We have shown that together we can achieve great things for our community. In addition to the projects listed, we are setting our sights on longer-term projects. These projects will take serious investments of time and money, help us make them happen! Following are elements of our plan on which we will be focusing in the next two years.

Connect the downtown with greenways

The city has a tremendous resource in her natural areas.
Let's finish the bike path! This is a wonderful recreational asset and it will give direct access to underutilized parking.
Let's build the North Branch River Walk. We've dreamed for more than 25 years of creating a downtown connection with the river that would invite people to linger and use the downtown. Its a wonderful dream, lets do it.

Improve and help redevelop 2nd and 3rd floor spaces

You're a small employer with ten highly paid employees and you want to locate into high quality space in downtown Montpelier. Where do you go-
Let's help make more of our buildings attractive to 2nd and 3rd floor space tenants.
Let's use our new downtown status to provide financial incentives to upgrade structures

Promote an enhanced retail environment

Where are some of the best book stores in Vermont- Who has the trendiest mix of kids clothing and accessories- Our list of great and unique merchants is long.
Let's market Montpelier! We should not be the best kept secret around.
